Study of Blog Earnings Report November 2007 (MyBlogEarnings)

Tag: Site MonetizationBush Mackel @ 11:22 am

Even though I’m a week late to the party, here’s the roundup for my monthly study of blog earnings!

It was a pretty good month for me both on content, comments and revenue so I’m really looking forward to the next couple of months…

Especially in regards to the “relaunch” of my blog as it were which will almost certainly see some changes to the sources of revenue that I target.

Ok, enough blabbing…

Revenue Name Alexa Rank Page Rank Revenue Source
$27,240.83 John Chow 2,783 4 Private Ad Sales
$9,705.00 Everton 18,567 3 AdSense
$440.00 Kyle Eslick 54,149 0 Sponsored Reviews/AdSense/TLAs
$193.00 Madhur Kapoor 130,433 3 AdSense
$155.56 Forest Parks 455,153 4 Pay Per Post
$119.54 Bush Mackel 170,549 0 Sponsored Revie
$117.13 Apexad 275,115 3 Pay Per Post

If anyone is interested, here’s how my earnings shook out:

  1. $65.00 - Sponsored Reviews
  2. $46.00 - Pay Per Post
  3. $6.09 - AdSense
  4. $2.45 - Text Link Ads

No doubt that the ONE sponsored review I managed to snag last month bumped up my earnings considerably… Certainly a far cry from my $10 Pay Per Posts (not to knock them). Even though I don’t have my mind made up on the subject yet… I think there’s a fair chance that this will be the height of my revenue for a while but we’ll see when I figure out what I’m doing on that front…

Anyone else care to share? If you are so nice to post your earnings and the rest, I’ll go ahead and update this post w/ your information (including a shiny new link for your site/post)!

    Hi,
Thatz great that you still can get big deals with sponsored postings. That figure is not very bad.

[...] usual, I was reminded to post this because of Bush Mackel’s Study of Blog Earnings. November was an interesting month. I switched my site to a new image manager for the dual monitor [...]

Wow, you’ve been doing pretty nicely on Sponsored Reviews. And if I’m not mistaken, I don’t think you did any reviews on breast enlargements and casinos. LOL It seems they’ve been taken over by the likes of those types. If memory serves, I have about 19 PENDING bids! Hellooooo, advertisers! Do yourself a favor and share some of the love my way. :)

  4. Opal Tribble says:

I did very well this past month, and this month will be even better. I’ve already beaten last month with Adsense, and affiliate marketing is doing well and as I mentioned to you in my email I got a position as a freelance ghost writer. That is steady income on a weekly basis. I can increase that simply by writing more articles. One of my websites will be tweaked a little and that will be my “online resume” for freelance writing.

  5. Bush Mackel says:

@Prince John - Yeah, Sponsored Reviews was a bit nut for me this month. And again, I can’t snub PPP because quite often that is the bulk of my revenue and would be more if I took more opp;ortunities every month.

@Mark - Ha ha ha! I actually remembered Opal T saying that she had to apply like 25 times to get just 1 bid accepted so last month I made like 25 bids, and I put the cost ALL over the place. That way if I actually ended up doing one, it would be worth my time and not like 300 words for $5 or something like that.

@Opal T - Congrats Opal! Oh hey, though it wasn’t for this site, I FINALLY made it over the $100 AdSense mark!!! You better believe a picture is coming when I get the check. (#):D

    Bush,

I like that you post your earnings each month. It’s something I’ve often considered doing, but I haven’t gone through with it yet since I don’t focus to much time on Making Money Online on my site.

I probably won’t get a post up this month, so I’ll just share it here. I’m pleased to report that I had my best month yet by bringing home roughly $440.00. I don’t really have a primary source of income. Here is how it breaks down:

    $125.00 Sponsored Reviews
$120.00 Text Link Ads (links and affiliate)
    $125.00 Google AdSense
    $70.00 Private Ad Sales

When you factor in hosting costs and all the domains I bought, that figure is probably closer to 250.00ish, but hey, that’s enough for a few Nintendo Wii games, right?

This month will probably be down some, as I lost a Text Link and Sponsor. Also the Google AdSense changes have caused a little drop, despite the holidays.

  7. Bush Mackel says:

@Kyle - $440!? I think that deserves a round of applause my friend! So I’m interested to see that most of your tla advertisers are sticking around now that Google slapped your PR away! Very very well done!

And BTW, thanks for sharing, you’ve been added to the list!

  8. Kyle Eslick says:

I think TLA advertisers will go up actually because there is the same demand, but fewer people offering to display the links on their site. I guess only time will tell.

Google traffic is up sent the PageRank debacle too :D

Oh, and some of that AdSense came from my other blogs, with only about 2/3rds of it coming from KC.

  9. Madhur Kapoor says:

Great going Bush . Your progress is amazing. You are going to beat me very soon.

  10. Bush Mackel says:

@Kyle - Interesting notes on all esp TLA. I guess time will tell but I think ’till then I’m gonna try and get in Google’s good graces again. We’ll see.

@Madhur - Ha ha ha, I appreciate the support, but I doubt it’s going to happen this month. With no PR, that certainly hurts me on the TLA and PPP fronts plus, I don’t think I want to keep writing sponsored posts for that little money… It’s a lot of work.

  11. keirablog says:

I see you updated it with my stats now. This was a down month for me, but I did not really have as much times as previous months, as I explain in my post. It’ll like be similar for the rest of the semester, but the good news is that January will hopefully be my highest month yet, as I will have loads and loads of time!

  12. Bush Mackel says:

@Apexad - Yeah, we all have down months. For me, I’m really going to try and start making the attempt to get away from sponsored posts and reviews by way of private/direct ad sales. GL, I’m sure you’ll do well. And GL with exams if you have’em!

  13. Forest Parks says:

Thanks for putting my earning up.

Sorry I have not been around. Been trying to get my new site up and life has kind of interupted.

Hopefully I’ll be back soon but earning for Dec will be almost $0.

  14. Bush Mackel says:

@Forest - Hey man, if the work you’re doing is on http://www.therandomforest.com, it looks like things are progressing nicely! GL with everything and am looking forward to you being back in the swing of things soon. (#):)
