Saturday Speedlinkin VI
Only on my site could you find such an erroneous thing as a “Saturday Post” being written and posted well into Sunday. Sorry about that!
My uncle got married over the weekend, and you guys know what that meant… Rehearsal dinner on Friday, wedding on Saturday (oh and baby stuff)… It was just a busy weekend.
And of course there was Pac-Man: Championship Edition…
I think on the whole, this week’s links are pretty interesting in that if you look at blogging from the business perspective, you see much like “normal” businesses, blogs take a whole lot of time, a whole of work - And often they don’t continue forever.
While some blogs seem to be at an end (at least for now) others are having their own personal successes and going forward. No matter which side you fall into this week, I wish you the best of success and luck in ALL of your future endeavors.
Listikal Status by Listikal - Tim was one of the first friends I made through my blog and like others, I was getting quite worried since he hadn’t made a post in a very very long time. Even though he’ll now be posting over at Connected Internet, it still sucks that Listikal.com will be no more.
I Sold ShaunLow.com by Shaun Low - I think for a lot of us, this news came as a great shock. But if you read Shaun’s post, he cites lots of good reasons. Nevertheless, his site will be greatly missed.
Casey Sold her AdSpots! by Casey - I always love to hear when my fellow bloggers are doing well and it didn’t take long for Casey to sell our her adspots! Goes to show you how easy it can be to make a little more money on your site!
Custom Blogging Awards by Mike - If you didn’t know, Mike has created some wonderful graphics in the past for awards, and now he’s offering his services to the masses. I really hope people are smart enough to take advantage of this offer. *nod*
Curiosity Lead Me to Monetizing My Websites by Opal T - One of the best things about Opal is not only will she give you some killer advice about business and site practices, but she’ll also share with you her thinking behind it.

Hey, buddy! Thanks for the little mention. If people actually started buying the things in the truckloads I’d figure out some sort of referral system…lol.
BTW, every time I see ya on xbox live you’re playing pac man. My cousin will be over a little later today for some Halo. If I see ya on there we’ll send ya an invite if you’re up for a little carnage :)

Thanks for the mention.
I believe I’ve visited, and commented, on everyone you’ve listed earlier I think you’ve listed them all before at one point but I’ll be sure to swing by again. :-)
I saw you on Xbox yesterday and was going to PM you, but I thought I would get my head ripped off, lol. ;-)

Selling of ShawnLow was indeed a shock and surprise for me!

@Shaun - I hope you do! Best of luck!
@Mike - I’m not gonna lie. That game is really good. I was going for one of the achievements and I got it just before my eyes fell out of my head. But yeah, we gotta get some Halo on soon!
@Opal T - Ha ha! I would’ve been nothing but nice I assure you! Next time I see you on, I’ll drop you a line. What are you playing right now anyway? I was so engrossed in Pac-Man I didn’t look.
@Aaron - Thank you sir!
@Nirmal - Yeah, I think it was a shock to all of us. *nod*

I’ve been playing Gears of War when I saw you online I was playing a demo. I cannot remember which one at the moment but I know it seems similar to DungeonMaster.
I was able to play Gears for about an hour today. I haven’t played it in a few months and it’s taking me a while to work the kinks out but I love that game!

@Opal - I don’t know if you have the luxury of playing that game w/ a home theater system but I’ll tell ya - There was a time where the torque bow just about made me cry.
I’m pretty sure it was right around Fenix manor and I’m killin off baddies and all that good stuff when all of a sudden I (litterally) heard behind me a sharp metallic din. I immediately opened my mouth to gasp, saw my life flash before my eyes and then just like that…
It was all over.

I bought a home theater system just for gaming I rarely watch TV and sadly I really have not done too much gaming. I bought my HD strictly for gaming. I can feel your pain/enthusiasim.
Enjoy it while you can my daughter wants to play every game I play. She is only four. I am not a happy camper. She is currently playing The Simpsons Road Rage she thinks its “bumper cars” and does not play the game how it was intended to be played! ;-) If your son is anything like my daughter he will be taking over your games at a young age!
Oh yeah the whining about, “I cannot play it like you play it!” is very special. ;-) Soon it will be your turn so I’m happy about that! Enjoy the gaming without little ones while you can!

Oh yeah if I don’t answer if you PM me that is because MY DAUGHTER is playing! walks off grumbling
September 25th, 2007 at 12:00 am
@Opal T- Ha ha ha. I can’t wait for all of that. (I say that now). As nerdy as it sounds, I just hope I can raise my kid right in regards to games. (That’s what the Wii’s Virtual Console is for).
And you bring up something to think about. … How am I going to game when he wants to?! Well I guess I can use the whole homework excuse. Ha ha ha!
