XBLA – Hexic HD May be the Most Boring Game Ever
I like puzzles.
I like video games.
I like puzzle video games.
Hexic is a puzzle video game.
I HATE Hexic HD.
…
I should probably have known that something was up when they included the full game free on my 360.

Why Hexic Sucks
If you’ve played the game for 5 minutes, you probably wish you had played it for 4 and a half. And you are also probably familiar with the following reasons why Hexic HD sucks:
- The intro to the game (floating Hexic tiles) is so dull and boring…
- No one knows what the hell is up with the sound effects and music. It’s almost as if Hexic wants you to feel trapped in a tiny padded room playing this game.
- Animations and effects are all but non existent. While in the game, if you take your hands off the controller, basically NOTHING will happen.
- The gameplay is so bad, within 10 seconds you’ll usually just be alternating between a random control pad press and the rotation button just hoping “it all works out”.
Conclusion
Don’t play Hexic HD. It’s a bad and boring game. How about this, I’ll make you a deal: I won’t try and get Achievements points for it if you don’t.

I like Hexic too, more or less. In fact I have the Hexic addict achievement.

@Apex – So you don’t find it boring? I mean, did you get the Achievement just to get the Achievement?

I really quite like Hexic HD. The graphics are crisp and fresh, and its really quite challenging later on. I wouldn’t buy it, but I’m glad they included it with the 360…

@George – Ah… The “Arcade” 360 right? Well my humble opinion is that it sucks they’d include THAT game with so many better options but hey, maybe I’m in the minority with Hexic. *shrugs*
In any event, thanks for visiting!

[...] HD For the hottest of minutes this week, the plague that is the most boring puzzle game of our generation once again ensnared me. Even though I’m still at the top of the list [...]

Found this blog while googling Hexic. I quite enjoy it actually. Just started playing tonight (got an Elite for Xmas) and have scored 5 Achievements so far. At first I found myself just randomly switching tiles, hoping they’d connect. But after a while I realized I was thinking one step ahead of each move I was making and it got a lot funner. I made progress in my skill with 4+ hours of playing and I hope to get a lot better.

@WB – Are you playing on a 360?

I actually really like Hexic HD. It can get a bit dull after about an hour of play, but it’s just so satisfying to me.

@Eric – To each their own! Maybe it’s just a lot for me to deal with in addition to the kids. (#):)
