Saturday Speedlinkin IV

Tag: Saturday SpeedlinkinBush Mackel @ 7:40 pm

Unlike last week’s Speedlinkin, it looks like I’m actually getting to this one on Saturday. Translation - Victory!

Aside from that, I feel like I’ve under achieved a bit this week on my blog. I really wanted to start September off differently but it seems I’ve just been all over the place lately and of course it didn’t help that I barely got a net connection when I was up in Philly.

But enough complaining!

IFA 2007 Coverage by Mr. Pete Cullen - Now don’t ask me what “IFA” stands for ’cause I don’t know. Even after going to what I presume to be their website, I still can’t figure it out. But no matter…Pete attended this huge consumer electronics show and did some ace reporting in a couple posts detailing the event so make sure you run over and check them out. (I have to catch up on a few of’em myself).

DaFont: 7,500 Cool Free Fonts by Brown Baron - I had found this site by accident a while ago but it took a post by Brown to bring it back to the forefront of my head! So if you ever need a special font to get whatever project you’re working on done, you might want to head over to Brown’s site and check out what he has to say about DaFont.

6 Character Traits of Internet Super Tycoons by Courtney Tuttle - With all the amazing posts Court has has been writing lately, you may be surprised that I picked this one to spotlight. But the fact of the matter is, in the game of business your mindset has more to do with your success than just about everything else but sometimes on “make money online” blogs that fact is omitted. Well done Courtney and keep the good posts coming!

It’s interesting, sometimes I think I talk with the wrong crowd about blogging. I’ve never made your ‘Saturday Speedlinking’ posts, but that is okay.

I’d like to talk about Court’s post. It’s informative, and I am not trying to say that it’s not good, but seriously, isn’t that common sense? I mean shouldn’t everybody have those traits? Something I think the post lacks is ‘individuality’. There are far too many ‘How to make money online blogs’ and posts out there already, I think.

That’s not too say the internet is not saturated with posts, articles, and websites about actresses/models/ and other things (which is what my blog is about). However, I have penetrated some untapped searches on google with my blog.

@Apex - I’m glad you decided to chime in because you bring up a lot of interesting points (in my opinion anyway).

In re: to Court’s post, … I won’t disagree with you that those 6 traits may SEEM like common sense to us, but to a lot of other people, I don’t know that that holds true…

Hm. I think this reply might turn into a post in its own. Stay tuned.

To that end, thanks for providing a great blog for me to read and express my opinions!

Anyway, thanks to a a PayPerPost oppurtunity I just wrote a bit of a ‘follow-up’ to my August earnings post, and talked a bit about that ‘make a living online’ dream.

In re-reading my previous comment, I think it may have come off a little bit negative, and if it did I apologize. Truth be told, I know Court has readers, more than me, and if writing posts like that gets readers, more power to him (and to all who have ‘make money online’ blogs).

The other thing about Make Money Online blogs is I often wonder how many of the readers who visit those sites pay attention to adsense. Clearly such sites are for people who want to blog, who know about google adsense.

@Apex - For the most part, this blog is really half me and half you guys, so you and everyone else here deserve a lot of the credit. *nod*

And no worries about how your past comment read. I for one found it really interesting in that you DO bring up two very good points. I already addressed the first (w/ the new post today) but the second I haven’t yet.

Maybe I’ll write another post! YES I will! Check back tomorrow. (I think I may have to send you a gift or something for these wonderful post ideas!)

  8. apex says:

The best gift I could get from you is to return the favor, and get some insightful comments on my own blog. Even if you just comment and say ‘This post is clearly paid, is this really your opinion?’ or something like ‘Keeley is hot!’.

  9. Bush Mackel says:

@Apex - Even though I HAVE made comments like that in the past on ppl’s sites, these days I usually feel that if I were to do that that’d I be wasting your comment space and not adding anything of value to your blog. But hey, that’s just how I feel. (#):)
