I've done that with my ferrets website. It sat for months collecting dust but I picked it up again along with a few others. Personally it bothered me so I started writing again. My reader base is almost completely different reader on my other websites a few of my readers from VM stop through like teenie, Harmonia, LisaC, and Thomas - Technical blogger . Mainly the few readers I have are new so I better drop content and visit if I want to keep them. The websites are still babies and the reader base is small but on some it will pick up.
