My New Favorite Website!
Even though it may sound like it is, this is not a sponsored post. I forget how, but I recently found an AWESOME website, www.ihateyourjob.com.

I don’t know if I’ve ever stated it on here but…Hm…how to put it…Well let’s just say that I view my job as a means to an end. While I’m there I strive to do the best I can, but I don’t lose sight of the fact that if my hard work yields my company $100, I will probably see 50 cents of it, if not lower. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read Rich Dad Poor Dad. It will completely change how you think about jobs and money. It’s because of this kind of mentality that this site really speaks to me…It addresses a part of my mind that my closest friends can’t relate to and most others just can’t understand. But you know what? I’m getting a little off base here and I could easily spin this conversation into a larger post. To sum up what I’m trying to say, I point you to perhaps my favorite post on the site so far: How Our Jobs Sometimes Rob Us Of Our Lifestyles. Trust me. It’s a fascinating read. And btw, the webmaster couldn’t be a nicer guy, so make sure you show him some love while you’re there. (#):)

I have been following ihateyourjob.com for a while now, and I really enjoy it. I’m so glad that the rest of the world is discovering it too. It always provides something useful–either a laugh, a piece of good advice, or simply encouragement and a reminder that those who are stuck in ill-fitting jobs are not alone!

Thanks Bush!
I welcome comments and feedback on the site, by the way. My goal is to be relevant, helpful, and to make a big impact, and I can’t do that without improving.
Also, I’m constantly looking for new ideas for funny content, helpful stories, or just clever rants (as long as they’re not overboard).
Got a funny job story? Got a funny boss?
Let me know!

Getting rewarded for your sacrifices is a great thing! :D

I checked out ihateyourjob.com and love it as well. It points to the conclusion that while a job is one way to make money, there are other ways, and it can be frustrating and financially dangerous to put too many of our eggs into a corporate basket.
Thanks for the referral.

@Chuck - You’re very welcome and I hope your site continues to grow! (I may have a story for you at some point ha ha)
@Grace - HA! That’s what THEY would have you believe. Definitely my favorite quite in that post.
@Martha - Hey there good buddy! Yeah!, it’s a fantastic site isn’t it? Thanks for the input and hope to see you again soon!

I had to laugh at the reference to “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” I was the family bohemian (and not in a good way) because I have not had a “real job” for forever. Then my step-dad finds that book and suddenly I’m the over achiever.
I swear I’m not doing anything differently.

@Kyle - That’s what I was hoping for. Though since you bring that up, I do hope to discuss the entrepreneurial spirit a lot more than I have so far.
@Wendy - That’s funny. None of my friends have ever read that book. No wonder we butt heads so much. (#):)

I disliked my corporate job so much I finally went full time working for myself, but then I think I already told you that! ;-)
I’ll drop by the website when I have more time to look around.

@Opal - Well even if you’re not a “slave to the man” like myself, I’m sure you’ll love Chuck’s site!
