I Haven’t Even Read the First One

Tag: Random NonsenseBush Mackel @ 12:46 am

So I just got back from the local Barnes and Nobles, getting a copy of the last Harry Potter book for my wife. Let me tell you, I haven’t seen that many rabid nerd freaks since Star Wars Episode I came out.

More to come soon.

Hah! I saw some pictures on the net of the lines…disturbing!

I’ll be listening to the audiobook.

    Rabid Nerd Freaks…
Hmm, ya know when you finally do get the Xbox 360 I’m going to have a lot of fun with you on xBox live!

I’ll be picking up a copy later today. I’ll actually have to go to the store, Bah!

  3. Angela says:

I drove past Barnes & Noble last night on my way home and couldn’t BELIEVE how many cars were there, just waiting for a book.

  4. Sassy says:

I was watching the news last night and seen all walks of life out there. Not me. I love to read, but I refuse to wait in a line for anything. I’m more of a movie person now since the kids can’t be quiet long enough for me to read a book :)

    Ha!!

Shameless use of the word Harry Potter :) It may get some random traffic!!

That’s cool though I did it too!!! All in the name of an experiment though, obviously!!

  6. Bush Mackel says:

@Pete – My wife already is. The book went to her brother. I can’t escape it!!!

@Opal – When I finally do is right. And it doesn’t seem like I’m getting any closer. (#)<:(

@Angela – Yeah, it was a bit scary. I really didn’t want to have anything to do with it. More details to come in a follow up post me thinks.

@Sassy – Yeah I’ve actually started liking the movies more myself in the sense that the later ones seem to be more my style (a bit darker). So I’m actually KINDA looking forward to the last two movies.

@Forest – Ha ha ha. Well, if i was looking to get some traffic for Harry Potter, I would’ve used it in the title so that it would show up on the URL. I’d also use term in italics and bold, and maybe even in a link. Naaaa, I don’t really care about that stuff. *ahem* Let me rephrase that, I don’t care about that stuff when it comes to my blog particularly. Other sites of mine I do, but that wasn’t the case here and won’t be on my follow up post either.

Truthfully, if the wife hadn’t guilt tripped me into getting the freakin’ book at midnight last night, this post and the next wouldn’t exist!

  7. Grace says:

Aww I haven’t read the first one either, even though I have it on my bookself. It just gets very boring. Anyways, I stopped by chapters yesterday, and there was all this buzz around the cash register; a Harry Potter clone was walking around giving Hogwarts-Meade drinks, and kids were asking him to sign, etc. But I wasn’t interested in the book, so I just left. :P

  8. Bush Mackel says:

@Grace – I had to ask my wife what this “Hogwarts-Meade” drink was. AY YI YI. And good for you for leaving. I came close many many times. Full story is coming manana!

  9. Brown Baron says:

After reading the comments, I had to ask my oldest son what that drink was that you guys were talking about haha.

  10. Grace says:

Haha– I wasn’t sure what it was either; but they were giving people samples… in a book store. I thought there weren’t any food or drinks allowed! :D

  11. ReviewSaurus says:

oh! I’m glad that even you are not one of those stupid fans. Atleast someone is with me :)

  12. Bush Mackel says:

    @Brown & Grace – It’s a different world

@ReviewSaurus – Ha ha ha. Well I think being a fan of something is great, but it’s just not MY style to be caught up in fan craziness like this. That’s how a remain a techgeek and not an uber nerd. (#):)
