Blogging Tips Web Meme
Hey kids, I thought I’d take a small, (very small), break from my Start Blogging Series and help out Grace on a new meme she’s trying to get started. So check it out, I’m gonna come back and tag some people soon but until then, feel free to grab it and roll!
Start Copy
It’s very simple. When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.)
Add the next number (1. 2. 3. 4. 5., etc.) and write your own blogging tip for other bloggers.
Try to make your tip general.After that, tag 10 other people. Link love some friends!
Just think– if 10 people start this, the 10 people pass it onto another 10 people, you have 100 links already!

@Forest - Well since you asked - I’ll give you the full rundown. Excuse me if you already know some of this already. Memes are usually innocent looking ways to either connect with your readers or to get links back to your site or both. Grace over at neonscent.com started this one, and you can see that by the link in the middle of the tips labeled “blogging tip”. What she’s trying to do here is improve her site’s ranking for that keyword in search engines. It’s SEO 101, “…have links to your site with the keyword in the anchor text” Again, excuse me if you knew that already. (#):)
To answer the question you asked (#):), you tag people by just saying at the bottom of the post, “I’ve tagged Mr. XXX, Mrs. XXX, etc etc” And usually you have a link to their sites when you mention their name. The only problem with this is if they don’t see that you’ve tagged them, they may not ever get the message. I guess you could send them an e-mail, but not everyone likes participating in these things, so that may not be the best thing for you to do.
Does that make sense?
