Study of Blog Earnings Report
Last night I discovered dailyburger.com’s “make money online blog list” that has the amount earned by bloggers for last month. The amounts were taken from those bloggers’ posts on their own sites where they reveal how much they’ve made. It’s a pretty cool list and even cooler to know that I’ve spoken with some of the people on that list, both on the hi and low side.
So anyway – I thought it was a pretty cool post. Then I started to wonder how my site stacked up with the sites listed there. I mean – I really haven’t started to monetize this site in earnest, but lately I keep hearing that a big regret of a lot of bloggers is not getting AdSense ads on their site earlier. So I got to wondering if I could predict how much I could make based on what my stats are compared to their stats. Unfortunately, Robbert @ Daily Burger didn’t provide stats for the sites on his post, so I had to do some investimagating on my own!
| Revenue | Alexa Rank | Page Rank | Revenue Source |
| $12,569.61 | 2,497 | 6 | Review Me/Aff Sales |
| $9,048.00 | 15,825 | 6 | AdSense |
| $2,700.53 | 402,520 | 0 | CashCrate |
| $451.87 | 115,382 | 4 | IntelliTXT |
| $436.29 | 128,905 | 0 | Spons Reviews + PPP |
| $343.11 | 152,539 | 4 | Pay Per Post |
| $151.88 | 131,968 | 4 | Link Sales |
| $25.92 | 248,521 | 0 | Forum Posting |
I should point out, that this isn’t the full list from Daily Burger, nor do I have the links to the individuals’ sites on this page. If you want to check that all out, make sure to visit Daily Burger. So anyway, what can we get from these findings? I get three things out of it…
- AdSense can work on blogs. You probably need some TRAFFIC, but it can work. And…
- There is no one way way to make moolah on your blog. What works for one person, may not work for another and vice versa. Experiment and adapt.
- Without a good PR and AR, it looks like it’s very hard to really capitalize on writing sponsored posts.
Anyone else have any thoughts on these findings? (And in case you’re wondering, I made $0 on this site last month).

PR and Alexa ranking are two of the biggest factors for getting good rates for reviews. For AdSense, traffic is key. Amount of pageviews is also a key factor for services like IntelliTXT.
That $0 you made? That’s just the calm before the storm buddy

@Brown – I haven’t had ANY experience with IntelliTXT, so I’m definitely gonna just have to trust you on that one. And you are correct. Next month you guys can call me …
EL NINO! Spanish for… … El Nino.

Man that’s pretty dang good. I know I haven’t made nowhere near that. I would love to, it would ease some of my financial burden here at home. And maybe I would have a little extra for me something special

@Sassy – Well, we all need something to shoot for right? (#)\:1

“There is no one way way to make moolah on your blog.”
That’s certainly true. I have 4 blogs all with similar designs/layouts, but in different topics. Each on performs on a different level, and the personality of the readers is a major factor.

Wendy – That’s a good point that I think isn’t brought up nearly enough. In fact, I’ll be the first one to say that I don’t pay attention to it nearly as much as I should.

I don’t get a huge amount on traffic on my blog, but it is still wise I think to take advantage of Adsense. Every little bit helps and the sooner you put them up, the more likely you will reach the minimum payout of $100.
