Personally I believe there are a few messages going on here. The obvious the ridiculous way people throw around the word “racist”. I think more people need to read what the word actually means before they use it.

The other message seems to address the common stereotypes about blacks (lazy/inept, gunslinger, head rolling sister.)

I think the piece was done to make people laugh and perhaps make them think about the skit a little deeper.

You know, I think the more we talk about race in general the better things CAN get. I know after Chapelle left the Chapelle show they aired one of his skits that didn’t make it into the regular rotation because I THINK Comedy Central thought it was too much (even for Chapelle’s Show).

Basically it was a skit that had a person talking to the good angel and bad devil that metaphorically sit on everyone’s shoulder. So in the skit, these angels and devils kept coming up when the person would be a situation that easily promoted their racial stereotype. So I think it had a spanish guy in a car shop and he had the choice of getting leather print seats for his car and a black guy on a plane who had a choice of eating fried chicken as his onboard meal etc etc.

What I’m getting at is after the skit aired, the guys who were hosting that particular show, (I think it was Ashy Larry and DARKNESS! [I forget his name at the moment]), they went around the audience and asked people what they thought of the skit, how it made them feel, did it go too far etc. It made for a good experience I think. Personally, I think that we were more candid with race and stereotypes and opened up that dialogue, we’d all be far better off.

Bwahaha! What a great video! Yeah, it gets me mad when people use the race card. It usually means they don’t have any supporting evidence to make an argument, so in an effort to win the argument they accuse their opponent in the hope of distracting everyone from their lack of intelligence.

Um yeah, the video is HILARIOUS.
