New Site Theme
Something’s new on bushmackel.com! Even though the old theme was in my favorite colors, it just looked tired and flat. I couldn’t stand looking at it any longer. So a while ago I got onto themes.wordpress.net and spent some quality time there. I whittled the list down to my top 5 and today nailed my top pick, Dark Effect Reloaded by Lee Cooper!
I still need to customize it to my liking, (sidebars, header, and colors), but right off the bat I like it so much more than what I had up before. I hope you like it too! Oh, and please be patient as I update.

Nice choice! I only changed my theme about 1.5 months ago, and already I’m fighting the temptation of changing it again.

@Mark - Well I think like the turtle in my header (currently), I like to get things the way they are and settle on them for a bit. As much as I do like shaking things up, it’s kind of a hassle to have to mess with sidebar.php and footer.php and index.php etc etc to make sure everything is the way you want it ya know? BUT, I’m glad you like the choice in theme as well.

Typically I am not a fan of 3 columns, but about the only place it works is blogs and this one is very nice. I do like the colors a little bit more.
I know what you mean about fixing themes to your liking. It’s a pain. Look up the ‘Dusk’ theme. Certainly you can see that my theme started out as that, but I edited it a lot including php stuff and photoshop work.

Thanks, yeah I just wanted to go to three columns because my previous design’s sidebar got real’ full real’ fast. And I’m glad you like the colors, but you know I gotta bring back the red at some point!!!

Nice theme buddy, i like the navigation bar color. may be change the turtle to something else.

Looks good. It is odd that in the comment section when I fill in my name/addie…it doesn’t show up. Could be due to white lettering on yellow? I replied to your question about PS and the design work I do. :)

I love the new look, and I love the turtle. The three columns make things a lot neater. Great job!
I think the housewarming should be playing a game on Xbox live! ;-)

@Opal - OH HO HO. Well you gotta remember that I still don’t have the 360 yet, so I’m a bit limited on the games I can play. But hopefully I will remedy this situation post haste!

Wow, I love this theme Bush. It’s obvious you’ve got a liking for the darker tones and this was I like very much. I like how the comments are seperated as well. Nice work…blog on!

@Listikal - Ha ha. It’s funny how you picked up on that. For the longest time my in laws thought I only wore red and black t-shirts too. Even though I haven’t broken out of the dark color mold on this blog, I’m really trying to look past those colors in sites I design. But yeah, that’s really funny you picked up on that.
And I like the comment separation too! Honestly didn’t know about it until the theme was up and running, but that’s a BIG improvement over my old theme (imho).
