I read all my about 100 RSS feeds in Thunderbird about five years, but now, when I start use a Smartphone with Android system I move best RSS feeds to Google Reader, which they are synchronize with my phone.

I looking for solution, how is possible to integrated Google Reader into Thunderbird. Any idea?

I LOVE Thunderbird - for precisely the reason you hate it. lol I don't want to have to remember to go online to check my feeds, nor do I want to have to click through on every single post I want to read. This way, when I'm checking my email, my feeds are all right there, too, and I can read them just as easily as my email if/when I want to. I would definitely not bother with Thunderbird as a feed reader if I didn't have any plans to use it for email, though.

Two other things, though, for sheer clarification purposes:

1. The feed is not still there after you "remove" it. The FOLDER is still there, with the posts you have already downloaded. So you can unsubscribe from any further posts without losing the ones you already have in your folder. You can delete the folder pretty easily if you don't want it, either.

2. I'm pretty sure there is an option to download the summary only, 'though I'm not positive because I've never wanted to do that.

I feel liferea 1.5.5 (compiled) + Google reader is the best thing that can happen to the world of RSS. liferea allows you to read your feed offline and when you are online it syncs up your list with Google reader so that all the feeds you have read or deleted are synced back to google.

Instructions for installation are here.

Well, I haven't used Pageflakes in a couple of weeks because I wanted to see how Google Reader held up to my needs. So far it's doing very well, but I think I'll check out the other ones you review here.

(and you're welcome for the warm and fuzzies : )

I checked out this PageFlakes. It reminds me of iGoogle's homepage. Of course, it was probably around BEFORE iGoogle so yeah. Looks nice too. Do you still use it?

(And BTW, gotta drop a thanks for subscribing, makes me feel all warm inside). (#):)

You know, we could be twins. :) I, too, wrote a comparison on Google Reader recently but did so with Pageflakes.

I've subscribed to your feed and will be returning. It's also time for another Drum Corps post of mine where I highlight blogs, and will include yours!
