Guitar Hero III for the Wii
IGN wrote a story yesterday on Guitar Hero III for the Wii. It was a pretty interesting read as it provided a mockup of what the guitar controller COULD look like, which if you haven’t guessed it is pretty much the same as the PS2 one, but in “Wii White” and with a slot on the neck that you could slide the controller into. That by itself could be pretty cool. Utilizing the Wii remote’s inherent wireless functionality, that could mean that GHIII’s guitar could be a lot cheaper in comparison to the PS2 and 360 models since it would be more a SHELL than an actually functioning wireless unit. (Did that make any sense?) The article also went on to talk about utilizing the Wii remote’s speaker for certain audio cues and it’s accelerometer for the “rock out” mode…I don’t think that using those functions would add anything necessarily to the game execpt again, to make the guitar wireless. I won’t go on recapping the article, check it out here…But I will say, at first glance, I don’t see what would make this version really different from it’s predecessors. Could it be that GHIII has hit that DDR wall in it’s 3rd go around?
