New Wii Resident Evil Game!
Poking around on IGN today, I happened upon a preview for the new Wii game, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles! On first glance, I could’ve cared less about this title, because I just tossed it aside as yet another Resident Evil 1 remake for the “newest latest and greatest” system. But then I read the article a bit more, (and you can do the same here : http://wii.ign.com/articles/780/780373p1.html), and I thought that this could be kinda cool.
What sounds cool about the game is that it seems to be following the direction of the new Resident Evil games by focusing more on the action. The article goes on to say though that this game could be more like House of the Dead, a full fledged shooter that takes the player through the story of the first couple Resident Evil games! Wowee wow wow.
So that sounds pretty cool and all, but I fear that while the action gets ramped up in every Resident Evil installment, the guts of what made Resident Evil the quintessential action horror game is being lost. Am I supposed to be “ok” with all eerie sounds and suspense replaced by, “Suffer like G did?”
